Sectio

Sectio calculates the geometric and structural properties of a cross-section of virtually any shape. A section is defined by a single outer polygon and any number of inner polygons that represent holes, allowing complex and irregular geometries to be modeled. A polygon consists of nodes and lines that connect between nodes.

For properties that cannot be obtained from simple closed-form formulas, Sectio employs the finite element method to deliver accurate results. These include the torsional constant (J), the warping constant (Cw), and the shear areas (Asx and Asy), among others.
